Homemade Ranch Seasoning
Summary: On learning that Original Ranch Packets contained a large amount of maltodextrin, something less than desirable from a health standpoint (despite lending excellent flavor), I set out to find a recipe for a homemade variant. I looked through multiple online recipes and found an excellent one by Jamie of My Baking Addiction. I have since made modifications to suit my personal taste preferences and this is the result.

Ingredients: Makes about 1 ¼ cups of seasoning.
-
1 cup dry buttermilk powder
-
2 tbsp granulated onion
-
2 tbsp dried parsley
-
1 tbsp garlic powder
-
4 heaping tsp dried dill
-
4 heaping tsp dried chives
-
3 tsp Kosher salt
-
2 tsp Splenda / Monkfruit sweetener
-
1.5 tsp tarragon
-
1 tsp mustard powder
-
21 grinds fresh ground black pepper (or to taste)
Directions:
Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl to combine. I like to store this seasoning in a mason jar in the refrigerator. 2-3 tablespoons of this spice will replace 1 packet of Original Ranch seasoning.
